The challenge
Visible dust plumes at the crusher discharge and screening deck had produced complaints from neighbouring properties and a regulatory notice. Any solution had to work without shutting the plant for more than a two-day window.
The solution
We surveyed each emission point and designed local hoods rather than attempting to ventilate the whole building. Three collectors were positioned close to their capture points to keep duct runs short. Installation was sequenced plant-by-plant so crushing continued throughout.
Results
- Visible emissions at the three worst points eliminated
- Site passed the follow-up regulatory inspection
- No production lost - installation done in three staged windows
- Filter access arranged above walkway level for safe bag changes
