
Aggregate and cement handling upgrade for a ready-mix supplier
Replacing manual wheelbarrow charging with a conveyor, elevator and PLC dosing system, lifting plant output by roughly 40 percent on the same footprint.

The challenge
The existing plant charged aggregate by hand and weighed cement by bag count. Output was limited by labour rather than by the mixer, and batch-to-batch consistency was poor enough that customers had started to specify competitor concrete for structural pours.
The solution
We surveyed the layout and found that the plant could be re-fed without adding footprint: a troughed belt conveyor from the stockpile to a new charging hopper, a bucket elevator to the silo top, and a four-bin dosing station under PLC control. The existing mixer was kept.
Results
- Plant output raised from about 42 m³/h to 60 m³/h
- Aggregate weighing accuracy held within plus or minus 1 percent
- Charging labour reduced from six operators to two
- Batch records now printed automatically for every pour
